Please note that for all meetings held at Sneydlands, Bryans Lane, Rugeley, parking is available behind the Magistrates’ Courts nearby.

The barrier will be manned from about 7.10 till 7.25 p.m.

The very limited parking at Sneydlands must only be used the residents, their visitors and the emergency services and as such, is not available to attendees .

County Archaeologist, Stephen Dean will visit us again to tell us about further developments in Staffordshire Archaeology, including an update on the Staffordshire Hoard.

The History of the Staffordshire Yeomanry will be the subject of a talk to be given by Sarah Elsom.

Dr John Wilcock will visit us to give one of his biographical talks on Arnold Bennett, the English novelist born in Hanley, Stoke on Trent, which was the real life model for one of the “Five Towns” of his novels.

Chimney Sweeps’ climbing boys, looking in particular at Staffordshire and the part played by Francis Wedgwood and others in ending the abuse, will be the topic of a talk to be given when we welcome back Steve Booth.

This will be a Members’ Night again, when Members are invited to give a 10 minute talk on a topic of their choice.  We hope to get 5-6 volunteers and would ask you to contact Glenys with details and title. 


The Landor (Local History) Society serves Rugeley, Staffordshire and the neighbouring parishes.  We care about the heritage of the town of Rugeley and its surrounding area.
